Community Steam Sessions

Our public offering is a 60-minute, lightly guided sauna experience held in our cozy, wood-fired tent. Each session welcomes up to eight guests for rounds of steam punctuated by refreshing moments outdoors and the option to take a dip in Lake Superior.

Each session includes:

• 60-minute wood-fired steam session
• Optional aromatherapy throughout (you are welcome to bring your own)
• Invitation to linger, connect, and bask in the afterglow

Come as you are. Leave a little more yourself.

 FAQs

  • Before your arrive be sure to:

    • Check your email for instructions for getting to us

    • Pack a swimsuit to wear in the sauna tent

    • Pack at least one large bottle of water

    • Pack one small towel to sit on and another towel/poncho the dry off if you plan to swim after

    • Sauna hat, if you have one

  • You will find detailed instructions in your post-booking email. When you arrive onsite look for a big black tent (BBT).

  • Swimsuits are the best choice!

  • Plan to bring enough water for your session.

    Tap water is usually available near the sauna site, but we do not stock water.

  • The sauna will be between 180F-200F on the top benches and between 150F-175F on the bottom benches. You can leave to cool off at anytime!

  • Usually we will be set-up near bathrooms/changing rooms. But in case we are not please come prepared.

  • We embrace the elements and encourage participants to do the same. Unless there is extreme inclement weather we are still on.

    We will notify you via email if we are closed and you will receive a full refund.

    • You may self-reschedule 48 hours in advance of your scheduled session.

    • Cancellations received more than 48 hours in advance of a scheduled session will receive a full refund.

    • Cancellations after this window can receive credit for a future visit if you notify us.

    • No-shows without a cancellation email will not be refunded.

    • In the event we cancel a session we will notify you and you will receive a full refund.

  • You can cancel with us by following the instructions in your confirmation email. If you have trouble canceling send an email to nomadsteamcamp@gmail.com.
